Osteoarthritis

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more joints that cause pain and stiffness. It affects both men and women and there are more than 100 types of arthritis ranging from rheumatoid, gout and osteoarthritis.

Common symptoms include:

  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Limited range of motion.

They can be mild, moderate or severe. Arthritis can increase in pain as the body gets older.

There are many different types:

Inflammatory Arthritis

Inflammatory arthritis happens when the joints are inflamed, causing joint erosion, and can cause damage to eyes, lungs, heart and other parts of the body. Psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are a few examples. The treatment of inflammatory arthritis is to reduce pain, prevent further damage and improve the function.

Degenerative Arthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. It happens when cartilage – the firm, whitish and flexible tissue – wears away causing bone to rub against bone. This causes pain, stiffness and swelling. As time goes on, the joints may become chronic and cause loss of strength.

CBD helps by reducing inflammation and pain.
